After attending public grade school, St. Rita High School, Columbia
College, and DePaul University, Herda taught Creative Writing Workshop
at the college level at several Windy City-area colleges. He worked for
more than a decade as a columnist for The Chicago Tribune, as well as
at numerous other Chicago-area newspapers and magazines, before becoming
internationally syndicated. His column eventually grew to become the
second most popular in the English-speaking world behind Dear Abby.
Today,
Herda mentors new talent while writing opinion pieces and editorials
that are distributed to all major media outlets. He makes himself
available for radio and television appearances and is a periodic
on-screen talent. He has worked with and befriended numerous
high-profile corporate CEOs and media celebrities and sports
personalities.
